Introduction & Disclaimer
It's 2024, time for the United States to select its 46th president, and with campaign season underway, it's time for super-busy, full-time-working, part-time astrologers like me to predict who might win. I have previously written articles about the Republican and Democratic primaries, both of which sort-of turned out to be correct. Now, it's time to turn our attention to the general election. Who will win? Will it be Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, or someone unexpected, like Cornel West or Jill Stein? (but not RFK, who annoyingly wasted my time by waiting to drop out until after I finished his section, but before I could finish the whole article).
I say "sort-of correct" because my Libra Mercury is averse to over-confident statements and feelings spoken as fact. Internally, I knew that Kamala Harris would replace Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee, but technically, I only floated it as a "possibility" because the stars suggested that Biden would remain in the public eye despite otherwise difficult aspects with some positive ones for Harris. Honestly, though? This should make me more confident, because in truth, this was a correct prediction too: the article was about the primaries and Biden did win the primary, remaining in the public eye by taking the stage in the first few general election debates, with Harris replacing him only after the primary had finished but not after their Solar Returns had. Similarly, while I tentatively predicted Donald Trump as the Republican nominee, I remained non-committal with it,, as Nikki Haley had some positive transits too, and felt that without a birth time, I could not say much one way or the other. However, there was some correctness found in this lack of commitment too, as I was correct to name her as his runner-up after all the other candidates had dropped out! This is not to erase my mistakes and claim to be right about everything: Vivek Ramaswamy was not picked as Donald Trump's choice for Vice President. However, these nominees are proof that the loudest, most confident people are the most likely to be taken seriously, so I will try to be a bit more firm in my predictive statements going forward so my desire for objectivity doesn't get mistaken for self-doubt.
Ultimately however,, there's a good reason I use these disclaimers, despite making me appear less confident and therefore, "less skilled." In part, it's a reaction to being harassed, which I have been many times in the past, particularly after writing political articles such as these...although ironically, the more 'objective' language I use, the more 'biased' my predictions are accused of being! For example, after writing about the astrology of the 2020 Inauguration, a large number of Trump supporters harassed me for "delusional worship" of Joe Biden (who I wasn't even a fan of myself), searching the internet so they could dig up my natal chart and prove that my failure to note Donald Trump's secret win (which they promised would be made obvious by March 2021 if not January 20th) was the result of "bad aspects" to my Mercury. So, I want to make it very clear now:
I am biased. Very biased, in fact. But my astrology isn't.
My opinions are no secret, but I have no political power. I am aware that my individual wants, needs, feelings, aversions, and desires have no material effect on the greater collective reality, apart from a singular vote and I will vote, yes, for a third party, but I do not need astrology to know their win is unlikely (although not impossible, hence their inclusion in this post) due not to fate, but to the big-money power of the two major parties and the population's defeatist conviction that it's impossible so there's no point. However, astrology does add an element of fate into the mix. So, while I am not a complete cynic trying to encourage people to throw away their vote because "it's all fated, anyway," belief in astrological prediction does require some degree of fatalism, which to me, means owning up to the fact that there are some factors in life completely outside our own control.
In short, this article is about who I think will win, not who I want to win.
The above sentence might be confusing to solipsistic free-will extremists with enough personal privilege to subscribe to the New Age belief that we each live in our own little universes where we can create our own realities through the power of manifestation or whatever, but as far as I am concerned, these are two different things.
On another note, I will warn you that this is a very long article (despite my efforts to make it as short as possible!) so I might later break it down and re-post each section into a separate article of its own, if that will make it easier for people to read. That said, for those wanting to read it all in one-go (or at least in one place!) the article exists here as it is:
Cornel West
Cornel West is a philosopher, Christian theologian, leftist-activist and academic, known for his outspoken views, particularly on race, class, Christianity, and democratic socialism. Born on June 2nd, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he has held numerous professorships and fellowships throughout his career including at Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth and Princeton. He is currently running for president as an independent candidate.
Unfortunately, Dr. West does not have a known birth time documented anywhere on the internet. I have reached out to his campaign on Instagram but have not heard back. So, we cannot do a full analysis of his horoscope complete with houses and angles and everything. Nevertheless, we can still use the natal chart, attached below, to analyze the position of the planets on the day he was born.
Cornel West has quite the airy chart. Air is the element of ideas, making him a great thinker and communicator. His Gemini Stellium (a conjunction involving 3+ placements) is part of a grand air trine to planets in Aquarius and Libra, blessing him with the natural ability to create, imagine, analyze, theorize, question, speak, connect and to unify. No wonder he is such a renowned academic, activist, theologian and philosopher. Looking at these placements a little bit more closely, we find that:
The Sun is conjunct Jupiter in the sign of Gemini, the Twins, giving him a variety of interests, talents, and large breadth of intellectual curiosity, but Jupiter is also the planet of religion, giving him great faith, a pursuit of life's meaning, integrity in character and an expansive, larger-than-life nature.
Mercury in it's home sign, Gemini, exactly conjunct (or cazimi) Mars, indicating that he is highly intelligent and an effective speaker/writer, but also, quite blunt and straight-to-the-point with his words, knowing how to use them as a weapon, but potentially causing controversy and getting him intro trouble.
The Moon is in Aquarius, a sign associated with human progress and creative innovation; although challenged by a opposition to Pluto, which could perhaps suggest some adverse experiences in life, potentially leading to intense emotions, (to be fair, probably justified) paranoia and distrust toward others, the conjunction to the North Node shows that this empathy toward the community is a deep part of his life purpose.
While the opposition from Venus in Aries could potentially indicate some problems in his personal life (i.e. relationships), possibly caused by the combination of an impulsive & idealistic heart (i.e. falling head over heels too fast) and logical restrictions from outside forces that prevent the initial spark from unfolding in the expected way, overall, on it's own, Saturn in its exalted sign of Libra conjunct Neptune shows fair-mindedness, a just and reasonable nature, and the ability to merge supposedly opposing principles of the material (Saturn) and spiritual (Neptune).
It is unfortunate that the birth time of Cornel West is unknown, as this would allow us to look at his chart more in-depth, clarifying and/or potentially or even mitigating the influence of the two "negative" aspects, while providing us with more understanding of the many positive ones. Overall, this is a very positive and powerful birth chart. Then again, I am biased towards air signs.
Cornel West is 71 years old, which means he is in a 12th house profection year. Without a birth time, we have no idea which sign his 12th house is or what planets rule it, but generally, these are years associated with solitude, isolation, loss, spirituality and/or self-undoing. Of course, if his 12th house is ruled by Jupiter, he may, for example, have a much more positive experience than most people, who typically find their 12th house years to be very challenging, so without a birth time, we cannot say for sure.
A proper Solar Return analysis is, likewise, impossible to conduct without an accurate birth time. However, we can still take a look at the transits experienced by Dr. West on his birthday; while the house placements would certainly give us more context into how they might be affecting his life and/or to what degree, they will still have an effect on him and his year ahead regardless. These aspects include:
Venus exactly conjunct the Sun: This makes for a profoundly pleasant influence on the year ahead, particularly positive for romance, self-esteem and socializing with others.
Jupiter in Gemini (West's Jupiter Return!) trine Pluto in Aquarius: The Jupiter Return is generally thought to be a time of very good luck and happiness overall. The philosophy of the culture at large is currently aligned with his personal one, leading to serendipitous opportunities if he can embrace the zeitgeist of the moment. The trine to Pluto shows potential for power and influence on the public through the realm of politics.
Saturn in Pisces square natal Mercury/Mars conjunction: This is a difficult aspect, but due to Saturn's current journey retrograde, it will not be exact until March 2025, months after the election and even the Inauguration. That said, it could represent frustrations that block West from achieving his goals. This could be the result of censorship or deceptive propaganda to discredit him.
Mars/Chiron conjunction in Aries conjunct natal Venus: The meeting of Mars and Chiron could indicate anything from accidental injury to channeling our wounds through the healing power of anger, with the latter being the most likely possible. Conjunct West's Venus, this could be "fighting" for peace or passion/healing in his personal life.
Moon/North Node conjunction in Aries sextile Sun/Venus: This aspect may be indicative of emotional growth and an increase in opportunities to make a difference, leading to positive outcomes in West's personal life or life overall.
Mercury/Uranus conjunction in Taurus: The meeting of these two planets indicates new ideas, exciting innovations, unexpected or shocking conversations that change the way we think about things. Depending on the degree of his Moon in Aquarius (which would be determined with a birth time), this conjunction may or may not be square it, and would exert a greater influence if so.
These are all very general descriptions, of course, since without a birth time, the details and context are unknown.
Donald Trump
Donald Trump is many things; a hotel and casino tycoon, the former reality TV star famous for telling people they were getting fired on The Apprentice, the controversial 45th president of the United States, and possibly, a cult leader. From that description alone, it's pretty clear he's a Gemini, born in Queens, New York at 10: 54 A.M. on Friday, the 14th of June, 1946. Let's look to the stars to see if he has the makings to fulfill his ambition of returning to the White House as the 47th (and maybe even the last ) president.
Writing about his natal chart feels a bit redundant, given the number of times I've written about it already, but it is important for forming our basic understanding.
His Ascendant's in Leo, the sign of the lion, king of the jungle, and conjunct the royal star, Regulus. This gives him the look and character of a king; entitled, dramatic, cocky and confident. Mars, planet of combat, is on the Ascendant, as well, adding to his brash and coarse reputation, as a bratty child known for picking fights for whoever dares question his place on the throne. Of course, he loves the attention, regardless, and with his ruling planet, The Sun, in the communicative, versatile sign of Gemini, he has the wit needed to provoke the reactions he wants, especially with his Gemini Sun in the 11th house of friends and social groups. The 11th house is associated with fans and benefactors, which Trump has plenty of. With the Sun conjunct the North Node in the sign of the twins, he's prone to changing his mind. He's been there, done that, will try everything once. He's an opportunist, basically, and he knows how to influence people, and the trine to Jupiter in Libra shows good luck and plenty of opportunities! However, the Sun's conjunct Uranus, as well, making him a loose cannon, and while that may give him the (surface-level) "underdog" or "rebel" energy needed to be the right-wing messiah, it makes him equally good at getting into trouble and scaring people away. Meanwhile, his Sun is opposite a Moon-South Node conjunction in the fiery sign of Sagittarius, meaning that he was born on not only a Full Moon but a Lunar Eclipse, which his followers like to point out as evidence for his destiny as ruler of the U.S.A....but he's already been there, done that. Whether he's destined to rule again or not will depend on other factors.
Before I get into those factors, I'd like to quickly point out the more "conservative" elements of his natal chart, for lack of a better word. He may have the egoic nature to do whatever he wants, when and where he wants to, but this doesn't necessarily make him a fighter for truth and justice, on the side of the American people. His Midheaven (the point representative of career, goals and public image) is in Taurus, a sign associated with tradition and driven by material security, and ruled by Venus conjunct Saturn in Cancer. The Venus-Saturn conjunction in Cancer is an indicator of Trump's old money upbringing and motivation to preserve the wealth he inherited and maintain it within the family line for generation's to come. This is necessary for me to make a note of because the Venus-Saturn in Cancer conjunction falls into his natal 12th house, the house of hidden things, making many people unaware of his true motivations, and furthermore, could also be an indicator of secret practices and shady business deals. Mercury, planet of communication and ruler of his very full 11th house, is also there, indicating secret connections and a cagey communication style, especially because it's also square Neptune in the 3rd. Although he appears to be a straight shooter (due to many of the placements discussed in the previous paragraph), this aspect is often indicative of dishonesty, but can also mean that he believes his own lies. While self-delusion is probably a factor, the sign and house placement of Mercury illustrate Donald Trump as someone who keeps his true cards close to his chest i.e. he is not necessarily as "blunt" as he seems.
I've attached the Solar Return chart below, which will give more detail about what Donald Trump can expect from the year ahead (birthday to birthday, June 2024-June 2025). He is currently 78 years old, which means he's in a 7th house profection year. This puts the focus on relationships, including both his marriage and his business partnerships, as well as open enemies i.e. political rivals. Looking back at his natal chart, his 7th house is located in Aquarius, ruled by a Cancer Saturn conjunct Venus in the 12th house. The themes discussed in the above paragraph, regarding this placement, take on a special relevance for him this year, but it is worth noting that Saturn in the 12th house can also be a symbol of persecution, exile and/or imprisonment, themes that have already played out for him this year so far, through events such as an assassination attempt and his hush money trial (with porn star, Stormy Daniels, rather obviously represented by Venus in the conjunction).
Interestingly, Donald Trump's Solar Return Ascendant is in Cancer, overlapping with his natal 12th house and forming a wide conjunction to his natal planets there (Mercury, Venus & Saturn). This is a very moody sign, driven by a need for emotional security, and the 12th house connection, once again, emphasizes themes of exile, isolation, self-undoing, and potentially, even persecution or imprisonment! The sign of Cancer is ruled by the Moon, making the Virgo Moon in the 3rd house the ruler of the chart. This is the house of short journeys, of neighbors/siblings/etc. and communication, which makes sense given the nature of his job; he will likely be going on many road-trips and talking to many different people, as part of his campaign, and that is where his energy is focused. The worrying thing is the t-square that the Moon is a part of, which I will back to in a minute.
The Moon in Virgo's ruler, Mercury, planet of the mind, is located in the 12th house of the Solar Return conjunct/combust the Sun, star of the show, with both planets making a wider conjunction to Venus, planet of love. Remember what we said about the 12th house? This large group of planets here (including Jupiter, too) could represent a fall from grace or a loss of some sort. Alternatively, it could represent something happening in secret, such as plans or conspiracies, but given the Sun & other Gemini/12th house planets are involved in this t-square to the Moon, it doesn't look great for him.
Remember; it is a 7th house year for Trump and both Trump's natal 7th house and his Solar Return 7th house are ruled by Saturn, planet of limitation and restriction. Saturn is very strong in his Solar Return chart, making a conjunct to the Midheaven. While this could indicate success and/or a career involving heavy responsibility, it could also represent misfortune in someone's work life, a negative public image and/or even trouble with authority figures. Given that Saturn on the Midheaven is making a t-square to both luminaries (Moon. also the chart ruler, in the 3rd and Sun conjunct Mercury and Venus in the 12th) it looks like the latter scenario is more likely. Donald Trump may find himself trapped this year, unable to live with the same freedom he's used to. This might be due to legal trouble (i.e. the 12th house is associated with imprisonment!), financial trouble (his natal 7th house overlaps with the SR 8th house - taxes, debt, other people's money - and the Sun rules the 2nd house of money), a decline in support (Venus rules the 4th and 11th houses of family and friends, or fans, respectively), something else, or most likely, some combination of all three.
Some other things I notice include:
Mars (the whole sign 10th house ruler) in its detriment sign of Taurus square Pluto in the 8th, which could make it more of a struggle to succeed or maintain his career than usual, or alternatively, could refer to a public display of violence, another theme which I'll come back to soon.
The North and South Node on the Aries/Libra axis make a square to the Solar Return's Ascendant and Descendant in Cancer/Capricorn, which could bring on fated events of some kind.
I must note that despite all the negative things mentioned in the paragraph above, it does not necessarily mean that Donald Trump will lose the race. Many of these indicators might refer to other things, some of which have already taken place, such as an assassination attempt made on his life and his legal battles with the Supreme Court. It's been quite a crazy year for Donald Trump, election aside! The assassination attempt on Trump took place on July 13th, 2024, one month into his Solar Return, with but astrologers have been predicting it would happen for many years. In addition to simply being a controversial figure, his natal Midheaven is conjunct the fixed star Algol, which can indicate injuries (including fatal ones) to the head or next. Mars and Uranus just so happened to be conjunct Algol (and thus, his natal Midheaven) on the day he was shot, and remember what I said about his Solar Return Mars in the 10th square Pluto in the 8th indicating a public display of violence with deadly potential? Meanwhile, the Sun happened to be transiting the 1st house of his Solar Return chart (representing the body) applying within two degrees of a conjunction with his natal Saturn (his profected lord of the year) in the 12th, indicating betrayal from an enemy. As for his legal battles, there are too many to list in this article, but let's talk about Supreme Court's strange move to rule him (and all presidents / oligarchic dictators, really) legally immune from any crimes committed while in office: could this have been due to the influence of Jupiter in the 12th (and his natal 11th) trine Pluto and ruling over the Midheaven?
With all that said, I correctly predicted Trump's loss against Biden in the 2020 presidential election. A comparison between his 2020 and 2016 Solar Return charts was a major factor. In 2016, the Sun made a conjunction with Venus in the 11th house of his Solar Return, while in 2020, the Sun was located in the 12th house of his Solar Return and making a square to the Moon. Traditionally, the 11th house is considered "the house of good spirit" while the 12th is the opposite; "the house of bad spirit." While this might sound like a very simplistic means of interpretation, the predictions were correct, and if consistent, the similarities between Trump's 2024 and 2020 Solar Return chart lead me to believe that he is likely to lose the election again, but let me look at the other two candidates first before quoting me on this prediction: if their charts are just as bad, that surely changes things!
Jill Stein
Jill Stein is a Harvard-educated physician, activist, and Green Party politician, known mostly for her efforts to address climate change, war and income equality, as well as her promotion of ranked choice voting and criticisms of the two-party system. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on the 14th of May, 1950, this is her third time running for president as a third party candidate.
Like Cornel West, unfortunately, Dr. Stein's birth time remains unknown, despite my messages to her campaign on Instagram. That said, we can still have a look at what her birth chart says, without a full-on, in-depth analysis.
With such a strongly earth dominant chart, Jill Stein is a fitting candidate for the Green Party, a political party known mostly for its environmentalist politics. The sign of Taurus, where Jill's Sun is located, is particularly associated with the environment, due to its connection to the material/physical world and sensitivity to the world of the five senses. The Sun in Taurus is also known for being kind, patient, self-assured, and strong-willed. While sometimes negatively stereotyped as rigid, the sign is not known for compromising its values, which is refreshing in a system filled with two-faced and/or weak-willed politicians who often do the opposite of what they say. Meanwhile, Dr. Stein's Mercury cazimi-conjunction to the Sun in Taurus shows a person of high-intelligence and verbal output, who nevertheless, due to Mercury's Retrograde motion, is prone to being misunderstood. However, Taurus isn't the only earth sign in her chart: these planets are trine Mars & Saturn in the critical-thinking sign of Virgo.
Virgo is a very organized and detail-orientated earth sign, stereotyped as very cleanly and health-conscious, which is fitting for a physician aware of the environment's influence on health! Mars and Saturn are very hard-working and action-orientated planets, so the trine to Mercury and the Sun indicates a focused, motivated person whose actions are shockingly consistent with their promises. That said, Saturn's Retrograde motion may indicate some frustrations/delays in achieving these things, and although wide, the opposition to the idealistic Jupiter in Pisces might be particularly challenging; perhaps these vivid dreams are hard to achieve logistically, possibly leading to periods of cynicism and/or despair, as well as periods of optimistic high-hope?
Dr. Stein has some fire in her too, with Taurus' ruling planet, Venus, conjunct the North Node in Aries. While this placement is mostly known for being passionate in love, it could indicate a passionate personality overall, especially since it rules the Sun. While somewhat challenged by a wide opposition to Neptune & the South Node in Libra, potentially indicative of an impulsive, idealistic, perhaps easily-influenced nature, possibly leading to problems in one's personal life (i.e. falling head over heels to fast, etc.), the conjunction to the North Node nevertheless shows these traits are key to her life purpose. Basically, this is likely someone whose bold, charismatic, confident, fun-loving, and driven to go after what she wants, while also kind and gentle since this is Venus, after all.
It is unfortunate that we do not have a birth time, as this will give us a lot more insight, detail and context into the above placements. It is especially unfortunate that we do not know her Moon sign, which could be placed in either Aries or Taurus, depending on time of birth. That said, thankfully, because she has important planets in both signs anyway, it would not make as much of a difference as it might otherwise: we know both signs factor strongly into her personality, anyway!
Jill Stein is 74 which means she is currently in a 3rd house profection year, which usually indicates themes of communication, education, short journeys (i.e. road trips or otherwise, domestic travel), neighbors, extended family, acquaintances and most especially, siblings. However, without a birth time, we cannot really know what form this will take or what this really means. We do not know what sign falls into her 3rd house or what planet rules it.
Similarly, we cannot do a proper reading of Dr. Stein's Solar Return chart without a birth time, but we can still take a look at the transits experienced on her birthday. While we cannot know the full context of these transits (or even their precise degree of influence on her life over the course of the year ahead!), we nevertheless know that they exert some degree of influence for the year and can provide a limited, general interpretation of how they might affect her:
Sun exactly conjunct Uranus, with Venus and Jupiter making it a stellium: Venus and Jupiter are the two benefics, known to bring happiness and good luck. While Uranus is thought to be a "disruptive" influence, it is also the planet of revolution and rebellion, freeing people's spirits. So, overall, I would say this is a very, very good influence for Jill Stein. The recent Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus lining up with her Sun may even perhaps she has a bigger role to play on the cosmic level to bring out the "promethean changes" in society often associated with this transit.
Venus sextile Saturn in Pisces (opposite natal Saturn by sign): Saturn's sextile to Venus might bring some stability to her life, especially personally, while the Saturn opposition is an important generational transit, occurring first, in one's early teenage years, again in one's early forties, and then, the early seventies, like in Stein's case. The Saturn opposition is generally associated with obstacles and opportunities that trigger reflection on whether one has made the correct decisions along one's path, and the third one is, given it's occurrence in old age when one is likely to face the reality of their own mortality, especially associated with leaving a legacy. While often difficult transits, Saturn's current location in the same sign as Jill Stein's Jupiter is likely to mitigate those difficulties by providing more opportunities to leave that legacy.
Nodal Return in Aries/Libra: This often represents a turning point in one's life, associated with fated events that bring a person more in touch with their purpose.
Mars conjunct natal Venus/North Node, with Chiron/Mercury stellium: With Chiron's conjunction to Mercury, themes of wounding and healing may play a role in affecting thought/communication patterns while Mars can motivate one towards action in achieving one's goals, fulfilling one's purpose and fighting for what one feels is right. If Jill Stein is indeed a natal Moon in Aries, that would make Mercury conjunct her Moon, playing a bigger role in shaping her emotional-expression through the use of words and logic.
Moon in Leo opposite Pluto: This birthday's Moon in Leo square to Pluto in Aquarius, which could be square her natal Moon, if she were to have Moon in Taurus, therefore playing a bigger influence, may indicate difficult experiences, power struggles and turbulent emotions.
All of these are very general, archetypal descriptions, which may sound almost meaningless. This is because the larger context (i.e. of how these transits might play out in real life) is lost without the information gained from a birth time.
Kamala Harris
Kamala Harris is a former prosecutor and the current Vice President of the United States to Joe Biden, who has resigned (or some say, fired by the DNC) from any future duties due to illness. Born in Oakland, California, on Tuesday, October 20th, 1964, at 9:28 P.M, she is my birthday twin, yes, but more importantly, she has made history by being the first female, the first black, and the first Asian, Vice President of the United States, all at the same time!
As with Trump (although to a slightly less headache-y extent), I have written so much about Harris's natal chart that it is starting to feel a bit redundant. Nevertheless, I have attached her natal chart below:
I was going to say that a quick glance at Kamala Harris's natal chart and it's no wonder she used to be a prosecutor, but then, I remembered how similar our charts are, and that's something I'd never do. Then again, I have been accused of making people feel like they're on trial.
Her Sun is in the fair and just sign of Libra, the Scales, associated with the archetype of the lawyer or judge, which in her case, wound up being very literal. With her Libra Sun in the creative 5th house, she is blessed with an ability to connect with people. The Sun's grand trine to an Aquarius Saturn in the 9th house and a Gemini Rising only strengthens these traits, making her a highly intelligent individual, possessing the composure and organizational skills necessary for working in politics or law (...aaaand well, apart from conflicting morals, that's the part I lack) . The North Node's exact conjunction to her Gemini Ascendant makes communication a major part of her life's purpose, as well as perhaps, an ability to adapt. Her Gemini Rising is ruled by Mercury in Scorpio, giving her a probing and investigative mind, good for uncovering secrets, with its location in the 6th house suggesting these traits play an important role in the routine of her daily workday. Despite the apparent openness of Kamala Harris's grand air trine, Mercury in Scorpio
Born on an Aries Full Moon, ruled by a Leo Mars, Kamala Harris has also got a very strong fiery side to her, that shows up in her communication style, making her passionate, driven, and charismatic. With the Aries Full Moon in the house of friendship or community, she is especially passionate about social issues and it's no wonder she's involved in politics, where she is determined to fight for what she wants and make a difference in the world at large. With the Leo Mars in the 3rd house of communication, she is very skilled at debate. She is strong-willed and will not back down from a fight. These placements might explain her former reputation for being "tough on crime" and will likely hold a generally 'tough' reputation if elected in office, which could potentially help her, in this case, considering the very weak reputation of the previous administration in which she was V.P. That said, the exactness of the Sun-Moon opposition suggests some internal conflict. This could be tension between the intensity of her authentic feelings and impulses (which might be angry and aggressive) and her external persona, as someone who aims to be polite, fair and balanced, or a tension between her more selfish side and her concern with the greater good.
Some other things I notice:
The Midheaven in Pisces is ruled by her Taurus Jupiter in the 12th house, which might create a reputation affected by secrecy and scandal, possibly around economic/environmental (due to sign placements) or relationship issues (due to Jupiter's shared rulership of the Descendant), or a career fraught with betrayal from hidden enemies, especially given it's square to Saturn in the 9th.
Venus in Virgo, suggests efficiency, neatness in appearance, and an eye for detail, but also, given its position in the 4th house, highlights the importance of family and private life, which the conjunct with Uranus & Pluto along with a sextile to Neptune, suggests is intense, creative, enjoyable and possibly a bit unconventional.
By election day, Kamala Harris will be 60 years old. This means that she will be switching from a 12th house profection year to a 1st house one. While 12th house years are often difficult, 1st house ones are usually fortunate, revolving around themes of self-realization. With her own 1st house is Gemini, this will likely be a very busy and social year, with lots of spiritual growth, considering the conjunction to the North Node. Meanwhile, Mercury's placement in the 6th house suggests that a lot of her energy will be focused on health, work and the daily tasks of every day life.
With the Ascendant in Sagittarius, it looks like Kamala Harris can look forward to an adventurous and optimistic year ahead, especially when it comes to relationship, given the overlap with her natal 7th house and the close conjunction to Venus. Plus, it's ruler Jupiter is placed in the 7th house and conjunct the Moon, basically indicating a lot of focus on her close connections with others. That said, there will likely be a lot of focus on the ins and outs of work too, as well as a lot of support from both friends and fans, including organizations that support her. This is due to Venus's rulership over the 6th and 11th houses. In any case, Venus conjunct the Ascendant during a 1st house year, especially in such a positive-thinking, Jupiter-ruled sign, gives a very pleasant energy to the year ahead, and possibly a more charming, even attractive, vibe to her public image.
To make things even more lucky, the Solar Return's 1st house ruler, Jupiter in the 7th, is conjunct the Ascendant/North Node conjunction in the 1st house of her birth chart. This is a very lucky and beneficial sign, even more so given that it's a 1st house profection year. Because Jupiter is Retrograde, it could be that a lot of people, or opportunities from the past might come back to her, perhaps people here to support her again or opportunities she missed out on in the past. That said, the Moon, here, may indicate a more sensitive nature than usual and some emotional ups and downs, especially due to its square to Saturn in the 4th, putting a limitation on the usual happiness indicated by Moon's conjunction to Jupiter. This could be due to grief of some kind (Moon rules the 8th house of death in the SR while Saturn rules this house in her natal chart), personal family issues (Saturn in the 4th house of family in the SR) and/or financial struggles (Saturn rules the 2nd house of money in her SR while Moon rules the 2nd house of her natal chart). However, this is a very positive position overall, suggesting that these downs will not last very long.
Meanwhile, the Sun is placed in the 11th house of the Solar Return. Remember, this is traditionally known as "the house of good spirit" and Donald Trump had his Sun placed in the 11th house of his Solar Return during the year that he won. Unfortunately, for Kamala Harris, the Sun's t-square to Mars in the 8th and Pluto in the 2nd shows some intense opposition, perhaps even violence from her enemies, and possibly, some financial struggles, That said, the Sun is still in a very good place. It's a very social house associated with friends, yes, but also, fans and supporters, indicating that she's in the good graces of the public eye. The Sun's trine to Jupiter (1st house ruler) and the Moon in the 7th make these positive indications even stronger.
Lastly, I can not write about Kamala Harris's 1st house profection year without mentiong the role her natal 1st house ruler, Mercury, plays in the Solar Return. It rules both the Midheaven (career, public image) and 7th house (relationships) of the chart and placed in the 12th house, suggests a degree of secrecy regarding these matters. Mercury's trine to Saturn in the 4th indicates that she will handle these matters discretely and efficiently. This may not really be good news for those of us hoping for a more transparent government but for her, it's good news in the sense that she'll likely maintain the business sense needed to avoid any major scandal that may arise from the revelation of these secrets.
On another note, it is perhaps essential to take a quick look at the Solar Return chart for the year Joe Biden selected her as VP, as well as the chart for the previous year when she launched her own campaign, which would ultimately fail. Comparing these two charts might give us a greater clue as to what might happen to her now, like it did with Donald Trump.
I'll take a very quick glance at Kamala Harris's Solar Return chart for the year, 2020, a more basic look than the analysis above. This was a 10th house/Jupiter year and the year she became VP.
Interestingly, her chart for 2020 is very similar to her chart for 2024! The Ascendant was in Sagittarius, but conjunct the Moon instead of Venus, and the Sun was in the 11th house! Meanwhile, the 10th house was ruled by Mercury (this time, retrograde and opposed Uranus) in the 12th. Her natal 10th house ruler, Jupiter, was in the sign of its fall, conjunct the malefic Pluto & Saturn, making an exact square to Mars in the 5th, with another square to the Sun in the 11th, making it a t-square. This is a very difficult aspect yet she won a higher position in the White House anyway! Of course, it helps too that the 11th house was ruled by Venus conjunct the MC. Meanwhile, Harris was also undergoing her Nodal Return & North Node-Ascendant conjunction, aligning her with her destiny, but Trump was experiencing this transit too, so on it's own, it doesn't mean much.
Meanwhile, this is Kamala Harris's Solar Return chart for 2019, a 9th house/Saturn-ruled year and the year she lost the primary, despite the prominence in the public eye indicated by Moon and the North Node in the 10th. Mercury ruled the 9th house of her Solar Return chart and made a nice conjunction to Venus in the 2nd house of money & finance and a trine to the Moon and also to Neptune in the 6th, so what went wrong? The Ascendant was in Libra, her own sign, placing Sun in the 1st house, but Mars, the 7th house ruler, was there too, suggesting opposition from open enemies. Worse yet, these Libra planets, particularly Mars, were square Saturn (the profected ruler of her natal chart) and Pluto in the 4th, as well as the Nodes, suggesting a blockage to achieving what she wants. Meanwhile, the Sun and the Moon made an exact square indicating blockage between her personal wants and what she needed to achieve professional success, and Jupiter in Sagittarius was closely opposite her natal Ascendant. Interesting, Jupiter is in exactly the same degree of the opposition sign in her 2024 Solar Return chart. Might that have an opposite effect to whatever she experienced here?
Election Day
The general election takes place on November 5th, 2024, with the Sun in Scorpio, as usual, and the Moon, a waxing crescent, in Capricorn. Waxing crescent moons emphasize new beginnings, particularly the very first steps needed to achieve our intentions, while as a Saturn-ruled sign, the Moon in Capricorn might suggest these intensions revolve around the re-structuring of society. Interestingly, the Sun in the powerful or power-hungry, emotionally intense sign of Scorpio is trine Capricorn's ruling planet Saturn, still retrograde but about to go direct soon, in Pisces, which suggests organization and bureacracy but also maybe the opposite?
In addition to slowing down bureacratic matters, Saturn Retrograde may lead to a questioning of our belief system and the powers that be. The sign of Pisces is associated with idealism and religion and it's possible that politicians will be treated like messianic figures by their supporters, or their cult-leader-like mentality may be exposed for what it is. Since Pisces' ruling planet, Jupiter, is in Gemini, the sign of it's detriment, I think the latter scenario is actually more likely than not; people are questioning their previously unquestioned faith and better yet, they are talking about it. Gemini would rather have variety than to settle for one thing, and it's possible this transit could cause people to question our limited "choices" i.e. why is it that we insist on maintaining an outdated two-party system? Jupiter opposite Venus in Sagittarius only enhances that desire for freedom and for more, more, more than the limited options we've been given.
Furthermore, Mars will enter the sign of Leo, having just finished its transit through Cancer. Mars in Leo is associated with matters pertaining to royalty i.e. the king and queen, or in this case, the president. It could be that both the winning and losing candidate will feel a degree of pride or entitlement to the position, which will likely trigger up some dramatic and newsworthy moments. The coincidence of the general election date with the Mars ingress alone is a traditional omen of war, conflict and strife, and this is especially true in Leo (a fixed fire sign) and opposite Pluto in Aquarius.
Kamala Harris: Our current vice president will also have Jupiter conjunct her Ascendant in Gemini but also, her North Node, as well, which is a sign of happiness and good fortune, but also a sign of growth. Venus and the Moon conjunct her South Node and Descendant is good for partnership (including her business partnership with Biden or with Vice President pick, Tim Walz, perhaps) while Uranus conjunct her natal Jupiter in Taurus brings a nice dose of surprise serendipity into her life. However, Mars' entrance into Leo makes a square with her natal Mercury in Scorpio triggering a major battle of the wits between her and her opponents.
Jill Stein: The Green Party candidate will have just recently experienced a Nodal Return on the Aries/Libra axis, an indication of fulfillment of her spiritual mission to take charge, be confident, confront the system, and fight for what's right. Venus and the Moon will have just passed over her natal Chiron in Sagittarius and square her Mars in Virgo, potentially re-igniting themes of wounding and healing in relationships. Uranus is separating from her Mercury/Sun, which gives a feeling of rebellion, revolution and desire for social change. The Saturn-Saturn opposition is more exact, and Pluto in Capricorn could be squaring her Moon depending on degree, which would indicate emotionally intense power struggles.
Cornel West: The activist theologian is experiencing his Jupiter Return and at a more exact degree, Jupiter conjunct his Mars and Mercury, expanding his mind and giving him more motivation to stand for what's right. Transiting Jupiter's trine to his natal Saturn/Neptune and potentially his Moon re-inforces this and suggests that he'll have some influence. Saturn Retrograde square Sun is a difficult aspect, indicating depression and blockages but it will not have much influence because it will not go exact before Saturn goes Direct.
Donald Trump: Jupiter in Gemini will be conjunct The Apprentice host's Sun and North Node in the 11th house, a sign of good luck and rising popularity. However, Uranus on the Midheaven could deliver some shocks or disturbances to his career. Interestingly, Trump's Lunar Return corresponds with the general election date for this year, which does suggest that it will be a significant day for him. Joe Biden had this transit on his Inauguration Day in 2020, which is one factor that led me to predict his win. This makes it essential for us to look at Donald Trump's Lunar Return, as well:
The Ascendant is in the stubborn, secure-seeking sign of Taurus conjunct Trump's Midheaven and conjunct Uranus, which could indicate career-impacting riots and rebellions. The Moon's exact conjunction to Taurus's ruler Venus is a position influence, suggesting pleasant feelings in love/relationships and support from his peers. However, it is in the 8th house, a dark place associated with death (and other people's money) and opposite Jupiter, so it is possible that the general public at large, or the media/government/etc. may not be happy with this. The t-square to Neptune in Pisces suggests a degree of delusional on his part and perhaps, on part of his followers, while Mars trine Mercury indicates fighting words. Sun in the 7th trine Saturn may be good for relationships but not necessarily for work, which might favor his opponents.
Conclusion & Predictions
Considering all the evidence, it looks like Kamala Harris will win the 2024 presidential election. Although Jupiter's conjunction to Donald Trump's Sun is certainly beneficial, his Solar Return shows many negative omens, particularly the strong focus on the 12th house which resembles the year that he lost. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris's Solar Return has a strong 11th house focus that resembles the year that she became VP, a configuration similar to that of Trump's the year that he won. That said, the Mars-Pluto aspect for the election's mundane chart, the positive transits for Trump, and the Mars-Pluto square to Kamala Harris's Sun, leads me to think that she will not win without a fight. This might be another insurrection-style event similar to 2020. On another note, while I do not think a third party will win, I think they will gain more votes and influence now than they ever did in any past elections. The event chart for the election indicates an increase in people who question the two-party system, and Cornel West's transits are especially strong due to the influence of Jupiter in Gemini on his natal stellium including a very luck Jupiter Return. .
